Partner Highlight: MIET Africa is a non-profit with a strong presence in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Region. Focusing on improving the lives of children through quality teaching and learning, MIET Africa prides itself on their innovative approaches to addressing the challenges children and youth in the SADC Region are facing.

 

MSICHANA INITIATIVE

Partner Highlight: Established to advocate for Tanzanian girls’ right to education, Msichana Initiative’s Executive Director Rebeca Gyumi was a 2016 UNICEF Global Goals Award winner. That year, Gyumi successfully challenged Tanzanian government, resulting in a change of the legal marriage age in the country’s constitution from 14 to 18 years old.

 

PPT MEDIA HOUSE

Partner Highlight:  PPT Media House was founded by Alex Kayetta, Isack Nysailu, Nestory Kitushu, Charles Nyembe. The group founded the business after completing a digital arts program led by Amani Project’s Erik Gregory and Andrew Lewis. PPT Media House provides a full suite of media services to organizations like UNICEF, Pearson Foundation, Tanzanian Ministry of Tourism and more.

 

SMILE FOUNDATION

Partner Highlight:  Smile Foundation directly benefits more than 750,000 children and their families every year. They do this by operating more than 350 welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood, and women empowerment in over 1000 villages across 25 states nationwide.

 

TALLER SALUD

Partner Highlight:  Taller Salud is a feminist grassroots organization enhancing women’s access to health care, reducing violence in community settings, and fostering economic development through education and activism. Taller Salud has provided direct assistance to more than 20,000 residents after Hurricane Maria and contributed to a 90% reduction of homicides in their home community of Loíza.

Partner Highlight:  Founded by filmmaker and human rights activist Leslee Udwin, Think Equal is the first global education initiative endorsed by the UN Human Rights Office to introduce social and emotional intelligence learning to children between the ages of 3-7 years. Its patrons and ambassadors include Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Susan Sarandon, Lord Verjee, and Sir Ken Robinson.
